T22 - Non-destructive characterization of highly stressed calender rolls
This transfer project aims to enable condition-based regeneration of calender rolls. To this end, the non-destructive testing techniques used are being further developed on the basis of the findings obtained in SFB 871 subproject A1 in order to enable a differentiated assessment of the layer system of a calender roll. Together with the application partner, a model is being developed based on the non-destructively determined actual condition of the calender roll, from which the necessary regeneration measures and times can be derived based on the condition.
